Come sing and drum and create some healing vibes together through the practice of Kirtan followed by iRest Yoga Nidra meditation!
Date: Saturday, December 1st, 6:30-8:30
If you missed our first Kirtan and Yoga Nidra night we have planned another! This evening will be a warm welcome to the colder temperatures and changing of seasons. We will have warm tea, feel free to bring a bag of your favorite if you prefer, candlelight, smiling faces and beautiful music. This is an opportunity to practice Kirtan and Meditation yes but it is also an opportunity to grow your community and make new connections.
Zdenka will begin the evening by leading Kirtan, a call and response chanting that is fun and playful. This chanting is also a deeply relaxing and devotional practice that can help us to feel more connected to our Self and open us up to a wider and more subtle intimacy with the reality we live in. The healing vibrations of the mantra are something everyone can participate in however they feel called to. You can sing along, bring a drum or other instruments, or just relax and listen. We look forward to sharing time and space with you all and welcome you to show up however you are. No experience in necessary.
Kylee will end the evening with a guided iRest Yoga Nidra meditation, iRest is a form of meditation based on ancient yogic teachings made accessible for modern day life. This meditation can be practiced by anyone, long-term meditators or someone who has never practiced meditation. Through this practice we are able to tap into parts of the brain that allow for greater insight and quiet the parts of the brain that are responsible for negative thoughts, feelings, and sensations. Using meditation, people can learn to welcome life as it is, learning to respond- not react- to it’s challenging situations.
A yoga mat if you have one, to use during meditation, we have a few for loan at the studio.
A drum or instrument if you have to play along with Zdenka
